Everything
I learned at school, I could have learned cheaper by
finding someone and paying them directly. You could learn just
as much by going down to the book store, studying.
You would be just as prepared as I was to
enter the workforce.
They led us all to believe we
were going to go right out and become network administrators.
Of all the people in my class the only one
who was working in the field had the job before
going to the school.
One other person in my class
got a job.
Everyone just got out and did
what they had to - took any job they could
get.
Most trade schools are a waste of time and
money. You can become a cook, electrician, welder, lock
smith, travel agent or anything else just by going out
and getting a job and learning on the job.
I
went to a mechanics school a long time ago too.
You know what happened when I got out? I
started working at a gas station along with another kid
who got the same pay I was getting. I wasn't
allowed to touch a wrench for six months. I was
there to pump gas.
Employers think nothing of trade schools.
To many, the fact that you've gone to a trade
school is a deterrent.
You could go to a regular
four year college and major in basket weaving and get
a better job.
Save your money and go to a
real college.
