Class of 2008 Comp Sci / Bio Alum:I understand your frustration I felt that when when I first got there as well… and what changed it all for me was really getting involved in clubs and sports. I joined the UCI Rugby club, frequented the ARC, took boxing classes, joined Italian Club, etc… and in the process met a bunch of cool people. See if they have any clubs of classes @ the ARC under your areas of interest. |
Don't believe this review. In reality, there are at least five black students at UCI. They are on the men's b-ball team. UCI is so proud of this diversity that they plaster pictures of the black players all over campus—on banners and even the buses. |
Major: Political Science (This Major's Salary over time)
UCI is a good school no doubt. There are many academic opportunities to get involved with and the campus is safe and nice. However, despite these qualities, there is no school spirit. I walk on campus and I cant help but notice many sweatshirts that have different schools on them such as UCLA, USC, Berkeley. I hate it. The student body has no pride in their school. They seem bitter that they didnt get into these schools…still. Get over it! I hate the fact that UCI is considered a "second choice" school. Its not that the school is bad, it is the student body who still remains without a football team, go home every weekend, and about 40 percent of them commute. There is minimal diversity at this school as well. I do not have a problem with asians, however, there are just too many. I know about three black people…thats it. I like a diverse student body and UCI surely does not provide it.
