The thing about UC for me is in large part to diversity. If you're looking for a diverse school, then I would suggest you go elsewhere. As an african-american I could probably name off all the rest of the black people that attend UC, which is few. As far as financial aid for minorities UC is great, I receive almost full tuition which is great if you dont count the fact that UC SUCKS and has NO diversity which is why they attempt to keep all the minorities here by throwing grants and aid at their heads. UC attempted to portray itself as a type of school that it isn't. Yes, its in so and so book for colleges that changes lives but this definitely must have been some type of bribe…UC has done nothing for me expcept killed my social life. I first applied for biology which is HARD! it is however a very good program but if you actually want to have a life, I would suggest taking bio elsewhere. It's a bullshit course thats full of nothing but useless information and there's a zillion hours worth of homework given in preparation for each class. Complete WASTE of time. If you are a minority and wish to have a social life…this is NOT!! NOT!! NOT!! the place for you!!! This school manages to put in cliques in which it seems obvious to me that most of the white people here dont feel comfortable with minorities or basically people who aren't EXACTLY like them. On many occasions I've felt like people attempted to reject talking to me solely upon my race. I'm not saying that all people here are racists, but there are some apparent and within the others its obvious that the UC community are neither familiar nor know how to deal outside of their ethnic group. Collegeville is an EXTREMELY, UTTERLY, PROBABLY THE MOST BORING PLACE I'VE EVER VISITED. If you like to go out and party or great accessibility to city life, this is NOT the place for you. Collegeville has basically a wawa, supermarket, and mcdonalds…whoop de fuckin doo!!! If you're not into getting pissy drunks and partying with the white chicks then your social life is SHOT to hell. For those people who dont enjoy going out and would rather stay inside and play video games and basically non-exist, this is the right school for you. Classes are okay but for the price-tag you could get the same education at a good community college somewhere. If you don't have a car, shoot yourself. There's nothing to do. The SEPTA transportation out here, although reliable, sucks ass and runs every hour or so. To each his own but in my opinion if you are not a white, preppy type individual or person HIGHLY dedicated and motivated in the sciences…SAVE TIME, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!! I see that it was a huge mistake for me to choose UC and I am in the process of transferring now. The only advice I would give is dont follow money, follow your heart. Dont believe the hype that they feed you at these orientation and visit days, get deeper and ASK more questions!!! DO NOT WEAR ROSE-COLORED CLASSES WHEN IT COMES TO UC!! All in all Ursinus College is a great choice for bored or excessively drunk/drugged white students but is an AWFUL choice for minorities or those who wish to have a life! Ursinus degrees don't even go far…no one EVER even knows what school I'm referring to when talk of UC…save money and a social life by going to an inner city place such as Temple or just a better place with a high price tag such as Villanova or Drexel.
