Hartwick is a waste of money plain and simple, it is a third tier school that charges more than more first tier schools. They lie about financial aid packages, and then pressure you into loans so you can "attend". The campus is falling apart as evidenced by steps crumbling, a disgusting library, the only building on campus which is decently modern is the sciences building. The food (it is college food though) is really really bad I just stopped going to the commons, and instead dropped to the minimum meal plan and did alot of groceries (which still cost much less than the cheapest full meal plan). The town is a rural and has almost nothing to offer in terms of retail options, Wal-Mart is the only place. The "townies" are unfriendly racist literal red-necks some how the population of rural upstate NY feels that they live wayy below the Mason-Dixon line, and having worked in town I know that Heroin, and Methamphetamine abuse is a very big problem in the area, and is slowly spreading to the school. The only way I can tell someone to go here is if you have a full scholarship, and don't get in anywhere else. There are very few employment opportunities, I had a few Pre-med friends, and with GREAT GPA's, and MCATs only got into lower ranked med schools and DO schools (easier to get into than MD med schools). Overall this place has very little to offer, avoid it like the plague spend your money elsewhere, and be successful in life!
