Notre Dame is the best place in American one can go for an undergraduate education. The alumni network is influential and supportive. Many opportunities have become available to me because of my connection to Notre Dame (either via direct support from another ND alum or simply because employers/graduate schools/etc. have been impressed by the ND degree).

Here's a true story which sums it up…I went on to receive a masters degree from Harvard and doctoral degree from Boston College. In every major job interview I've had, the interviewer has always said, "Oh, I see you went to Notre Dame…". Not "I see you went to Harvard" or "I see you went to BC."

questionHi, I'm in the middle of my college search right now and am extremely interested in Notre Dame.
I am a very study-hard, party-hard type of person, love a school that has a lot of school spirit, and want a gorgeous campus so Notre Dame seems like a great fit.

I've looked through a lot of the reviews and it seems like you're one of the more knowledgeable people. I have a couple of questions and would truly appreciate your input.

1) Although I am a Catholic, I'm one of those people that only goes to church twice a year (Christmas Eve & Easter) I am an extremely open person and love people of all sexual preferences and religions. Is ND an extremely religious school? I know that there is a requirement to take theology courses, but will I have to take one specifically about Christianity? Does the school seem to shun LGBT people?

2) Do you feel that you have enough personal contact with professors? Are they frequently available to meet with outside of class? I want an environment where I can truly connect with my teachers.

3) I know you said that ND isn't a party school, but are the parties good? Do people dance at them, or just drink and socialize?

Thank you so much for your time, any response will be greatly appreciated!
