Each year, I've disliked this school more. I came here expecting to work more and meet more nerds like me, but the coursework is more than I expected. Professors seem to give tedious assignments and make their classes hard just for the sake of being hard to live up to the university's silly reputation as
the Harvard of the midwest.
You have to be willing to have virtually no social life and be stressed constantly to the point of exhaustion and hopelessness in some cases.
Anyway, I wish I had transferred after my first year like many of my friends and the dropout rate is high. The school gives you plenty of scholarships, but these become useless if you lose your financial aid due to a dropping GPA.
The greek life is annoying to anyone who isn't part of it. Kirksville sucks- it is a tiny, nothing town in the middle of nowhere with nothing to do. Plus there are tons of close-minded folks and walmart is the only place to go.
To the university's credit, class sizes are small and professors are generally helpful if you go to them. Some majors are much more difficult than others. English and business are easier while biology and physics are much harder.
I wouldn't recommend this school to anyone. However, if you think you're super-smart, don't procrastinate at all, and enjoy the small-town life, go for it.
