Major: History/Histories (art history/etc.) (This Major's Salary over time)
The image the school puts out there (whether via tours or the college website) is far from the reality of Elmira College. For example, the website lists classes such as "Homeric Poems" and "The Sacred Art of India" as being part of the Classics program - but such courses haven't been offered here for years. Of course, no one will tell you this before you decide to attend. While I am very glad to have met some of the professors here and have enjoyed some of their classes, in general even the "tough" professors coddle their students far too much. The school feels more like summer camp than college.I can say that the school has a lot of spirit and cares a great deal about tradition. I have had some great times here. And the scholarships are great. Still, as an academic institution, I found it sorely lacking.
