Major: Biology (This Major's Salary over time)
I'm getting sick of all the negative comments about this university. This is not a bad school. If you read comments from other universities in the same state and compare it to UMass, you will see that UMass can offer a similar experience. For example, the food is not bad. In the past two years, food services have really kicked up a whole notch. There are social events on campus and I've seen the social life improve on campus the few years I have been here. The Biology program I am in offers more than I expected. I am graduating soon and as I think about it, I actually regret not pursuing the Biotech + Biomedical Engineering program, which is a great program. There are plenty of research opportunities on campus for science majors amd getting a degree in science from this school is pretty respectable. The university offers a lot of programs and flexible course schedules. There is a Pre-Med/Pre-Health option if you were not aware. The Continuing Ed program is being acclaimed now. Certificates are also offered to boost your resume. The surrounding city of Lowell has definately improved in the past two years, especially downtown Lowell. Lowell is a busy town. And there are numerous public transportation options, just name it and you have it here.Sure, there are things to improve, but this place is not the crap it is rumored to be! Get real people! For all this school offers, it is pretty affordable!
