Maybe
it's my own fault for having such high expectations, but
after completing my 3rd year at Penn, I can't believe
I'm still here. For an Ivy League school that
boasts of its competitiveness, my classes sure have been filled
with a load of dumbasses riding the legacy train.
Despite this, in many of the departments the curve is
so competitive that students don't focus on learning material, but
figuring out a strategy just to pass exams. The
academic advising is shit, and as a freshman, I could've
signed up for 5 elective classes and my advisor would've
approved the schedule. For anyone who is even a
tiny bit different, don't plan on finding a real group
of friends. Even the “different” group are all different
in the same stereotypical hipster way. At this point
I'm just sticking it out because I've waited too long
to go somewhere else...
