Major: History/Histories (art history/etc.) (This Major's Salary over time)
I'm a freshman here and I'm a history major with sec. education as my minor. The good things about my school are that it is good for teaching, decent class sizes, if you show your not just in class for credit then the faculty will like you, and some intelligent professors who may care about your progress. The bad things tend to be social issues; I.) homogeneous student population including 1. cliques 2. A lot of dumbasses 3. Hard to find people who think and behave differently (Cares about politics, good critical thinking skills, any even minimally philosophic conversations, ect.)II.) Half of the residents leave every weekend so the campus is boring. III.) The parties are run by homogeneous frat douchebags that require a certain number of girls to come with you or you will not get in. They want the girls for only the most obvious reason. There is nothing to do off campus; the town of Bridgewater is not very exciting. They put on some events on campus from time to time which can bring some entertainment. Twenty-four hour security for freshman, unfortunately not student-run. About half the people I know have gotten in some sort of trouble usually landing them in Brockton court. When you get caught with or under the influence of alcohol, they typically arrest you and you have to be bailed out and of course go to court with legitimate charges. I could rabble on more but I don't really want to continue and I'm sure you get the point. I'm transferring to another school and many other people I know are doing the same thing. If you're coming here because you didn't work hard as a high school student, you can come here and work hard and transfer to a better school. If you're going to school for only academic reasons and you typically fit in with the normal crowd, I don't think you will hate it. I know plenty of people who say they like it here.
