Denison is one of the best schools that you could attend. Here is the low down on everything. It is possible to go through your four years at Denison and find a handful of classes with "easy" teachers. However, overall, Denison is an extremely demanding academic institution in which you will be required to draw conclusions, apply previous knowledge and concepts and be able to communicate your thoughts on paper and to the class. You will get your boring classes and less-than-perfect teachers, but this is true at every college. I have loved 80% of my classes and professors. The campus is BEAUTIFUL. I looked at many liberal arts colleges and Denison by far had the nicest campus. The campus itself is huge for it's size, the brick buildings are in great condition and the views are incredible. Granville, although not a "party" town is really nice full of huge old houses and nice stores/restaurants. Socially, get familiar with Greek life. It dominates everything. Drinking is more-than-common, of course and one might feel out of place if they attended Denison and didn't drink. There are other things to do other than drink blah blah blah but really, this is a Greek party school that loves to drink and dabble with cocaine and marijuana. Most upper class liberal arts colleges (Dickinson, Trinity, DePauw, F&M, Bucknell) are like this, though, Denison is no exception. The student body is great. We have lots of diversity now from the Posse Foundation. However, Denison remains an extremely WASPy school drawing from rich East Coast, Chicago, Ohio and Michigan towns, mostly. It sometimes feel that almost everyone is loaded but mostly everyone is friendly, gets along and is interesting.Denison is a fantastic place. The professors truely care, the campus is beautiful and the social scene offers a lot to those who like to drink and go to parties. I would never go anywhere else.
