I was told when entering CCAD that it was one of the top 10 colleges in the country. I was also told that they had an AMAZING placement program for graduates. Neither of these are true. At least not for photography students. When I was there, I did take a photo editing Internship at America Online, which was the best decision I ever made. However the staff and other students were not so supportive. Now I work in New York at Rolling Stone and although I have tried several times to become active in the alumni program and become a mentor for CCAD students, the response has not been very positive. An ex coworker of mine who graduated from RISD has been more accepted by CCAD in my eyes.

All in all, I feel that my experience while I was there was excellent, but they did not prepare me to get a job, and unless I'm offering money, they don't seem to be receptive on an alumni level. I consider myself a successful graduate of the school and would love to help make other students become successful too.

Go there, but don't count on them to make your way for you.
