Major: Mechanical Engineering (This Major's Salary over time)
I don't even know where to start on this one…Let me just say that the chair of the mechanical engineering department is probalby competent as a scholar, but what he makes up in brilliant research, he loses in running his show. I have had him request two forms from me, only to have him lose them. Even other staffers in the university have warned me about his lack of care and organization. The man is incompetent. He should stick to research. Secondly, his choice for guest professors is as good as his work as a chair. He chose an arrogant, unprepared engineer from GM to act as a professor. The man taught a masters class like it was second grade. The material was so basic, that people stopped showing up to class. Getting a good grade had more to do with how the man's day was going, than the material a student wrote. I quit U of M Dearborn to transfer to Oakland and I strongly regret my decision. I would strongly advise everyone to not apply to the Mechanical Engineering department at OU.
