Major: Public Health (This Major's Salary over time)
The school of public health has a good reputation, the on-campus courses were fair, and some of the faculty are excellent. The distance program (online) had potential but was very poorly implemented. More than half the courses had minimal interaction with the instructor, leading me to believe the school is more interested in the income from online students than providing a good education. Courses were not developed according to the published timetable, and therefore specific courses I intended to take were never available. The director of the distance learning program changed in the middle of my degree, and the new director is a significant reason to avoid the program. Communication with the office of distance learning is nearly impossible, which is a serious problem for an online program. If the distance program at LLU is revamped and they hire a new director, this could be a program to consider. Otherwise, spend a little bit more and get a great distance education from Johns Hopkins.
