Looking back at SLC, I realize it has taught me to be uncompromising about not only my passions, but also the work ethic required to achieve them. The independence fostered by its unique system has served me well in the working world, where I am considered more resourceful, mature and poised than the vast majority of young workers. SLC exposed me to incredibly sophisticated discourse in several disciplines. The rigor of learning has not left me—I still feel subconsciously inadequate if I do not read several books of merit per month!
