I feel that I am better-educated and more socially aware than other people in my field. I have a broader intellectual perspective that informs my work and prevents me from adopting simplistic ideas or rigid treatment strategies. The social/cultural/political perspective I developed at Swarthmore helps me to understand people in the context of these broader issues.
