I LOVE it here! People tend to complain about the social life here but honestly, its what you make of it. Thats true of ANYWHERE you go to college. I think the hard part is knowing that if you meet someone here and you want to be social you actually have to get to know them (and yourself). In another setting with many parties you may get to meet other people and have a good conversation or two but the chances of you seeing them again or really going further are slim. Its easier to have aquaintences and feel like you have a social network at other schools—but if you come here you have to be willing to be known. Its a different kind of intamacy. I think thats why alot of people cut themselves off from others and act snooty or standoffish—fear ( kind of thing) And, like ANYWHERE you leave college with your close group of 2-5 friends. Besides, the intellectual growth you'd gain here is invaluable.
