Major: Computer Engineering (This Major's Salary over time)
What really gets most current and incoming students is the aesthetically pleasing campus and small class sizes. An added bonus to this university is the surrounding city and people (beautiful, beautiful people). My first year at LMU has been great. I am a computer engineer and as of right now, all the faculty in the engineering department are probably the best people on campus; extremely friendly, helpful, and patient. Plus, you'll be spending a lot of lab time with them, so you really get to know your professor, something that I don't think occurs much with any other college on campus. Some classes are pointless for my concentration, like Intro to Engineering and Engineering Graphics and Design (which will not be offered starting Fall 2008), however they were extremely fun.Extracurriculars are fairly sparse on campus. You have a few club sports, educational and cultural clubs, and religious affiliations. There is also Greek life, however the Greeks have no houses. Another complaint that I feel extremely disgusted by (no, I'm not biter) is that the university prides itself on a Jesuit foundation, but ironically, if one wanted to join a service organization, they have to go through a selective application process that will accept or deny them membership. It's service for goodness' sakes! They're basically saying that you can't be part of our organization because you're not service orientated or whatnot. Aside from that, there's not much to do on the weekends. The entire campus is dead and the only thing to do is indulge in illegal substances. If you're lucky, there might be an event going on that weekend and will give you something else to do than to get plastered.
