I have been at Messiah College for 2 years. I have found the faculty & students to be very supportive. It has been a great place to explore my interests so far.

Academics: If you are a hard-working student and committed to your studies, you will find yourself a little bored. The work here is considerably less challenging than I had expected. Messiah is very committed to service and campus organizations (this is great!). Academics are an important factor, but it does not seem to be a top priority among most students. I am disappointed with the strength of the modern language department. The Spanish department is very strong, but students interested in German or French may feel as though their menu of courses and number of faculty to be a little sparse. The political science department, though small, is very impressive & supportive. Students get good internships because faculty have great connections.

Nursing majors and accounting majors will be pleased with the strength of programs at Messiah. My friends who are interested in the sciences receive personal attention and work closely with faculty in research internships. Class sizes are small, which is wonderful.

Campus: It is beautiful! In the Spring, there are plenty of green spaces to spread out your work and enjoy the sun. The Yellow Breeches Creek that runs through campus is a popular hangout. Most students enjoy the outdoors and take advantage of the beautiful surroundings. When "college hunting," I was impressed with Messiah's cozy, gorgeous campus.

Food: Lottie Nelson Dining Hall is popular, and the food is pretty good (especially the desserts). The Student Union and Falcon Express provide great options, too. The campus just added a student-run ice cream caf, Southside Caf. As a student, you will become acquainted with Turkey Hill ice cream pretty quickly! We eat well here…

Safety: Messiah is a very safe campus. I have never felt uneasy walking around, even around midnight. Public safety is good.

People: Messiah College students are notorious for having good character, and employers recognize this. My friends are some of the most caring and generous people I know. As I said before, most students are passionate about serving others in the community and living beyond themselves.

Messiah College is a great school. I have found my faith has grown since stepping on campus, and the students around me inspire & encourage me.
