Major: Computer Science (This Major's Salary over time)
I am attending Columbus State to obtain a certificate in database systems. My undergrad was in accounting at a state university. Columbus State's CIT classes are using still using SQL 2000 instead of SQL 2005 which has been out for three years now. When students graduate with their brand new degrees, they will need to spend hundreds of more hours in self-study just to get current. The .NET classes were more current thankfully. Columbus State's job placement program just sends you to a temp agency. The whole purpose of getting an education is to obtain a good position but CSCC fails miserbly here. I am finishing my certificate because I finish what I start but I cannot recommend CSCC at this time. I would rather pay out of state tuition to learn up-to-date skills (see Bellevue Community College).
