He cares more about Faculty Accessibility than the average student.
Date: Jul 11 2008 Major: Fine Arts - Painting/Sculpture/Photography/etc (This Major's Salary over time) If you want to have the worst summer of your life go to any Sarah Lawrence program. I myself went to the Film program and only have complaints about it. Upon arriving to campus I was told that the program would be very different then what I had signed up and already paid for. The actual components of the Film program were much more intense then what I had signed up for and the teachers in the program, though credible, do not offer much wisdom. The teachers in the program have done some great work but when it comes down to them teaching they are not very good. The academic side of the program is not ran by Sarah Lawrence, which in this case, is a good thing. The Sarah Lawrence staff are very good at being awful supervisors. From the ground up the staff at Sarah Lawrence are despicable. My resident counselor was extremely irresponsible and didn't know how to control us. He never explained the rules to us, and only when we unknowingly broke them would he come down on us. Everyone in my program found this person to be awful and he alone would have made the program bad -that is if there weren't other more major faults. Another Sarah Lawrence staff member who is in charge of all of the Sara Lawrence summer programs is Liz Irmiter. This lady is the epitome of all evil. There is no way to explain how horrible of a person this woman is in a simple review. She creates ludicrous rules and only enacts them when she feels its correct. Her only purpose, which she makes clear on a constant basis, is to not get sued. She is willing to do anything to ensure that she will not get sued. She rarely makes herself open for questions and when she does she is not willing to hear your side of the argument. The worst part about this lady is that before coming to the program I spoke to her on the phone multiple times to ensure that I would enjoy the program. She seemed like a nice woman and told me many facts about the program that I liked. She told me the privileges I would have at the program and I could not wait to come here. Once I did go, I noticed that half of the things that came out of this woman's mouth was a lie. Word of advice: If this woman still has a job at Sarah Lawrence in the future (which I highly doubt due to how despicable of a job she has done) do not listen to a word she says. She is a fraud and is only worried about not getting sued. The campus of Sarah Lawrence during the summer is quite awful too. The food, which they force you to pay 25 dollars a day, is awful. Not one element of this program is good and I look forward to the day when people start realizing this and stop going to the Sarah Lawrence summer programs. I give this program 2 thumbs down, a 1 out of 10, and I have pity for all Sarah Lawrence staff, especially: Liz IrmiterDirector of Special ProgramsSarah Lawrence College1 Mead WayBronxville, New York 10708-5999Telephone:(914) 395-2693
