Date: Aug 05 2008 Major: English (This Major's Salary over time) I had a mixed experience at St. A's. I was comfortable there but I also disliked many aspects of my time there. I thought that most of the teachers really didn't care about you. Even my advisor was extremely unhelpful when I needed him to be. I did have some exceptional teachers- Elizabeth Fouts in the Spanish department, Denise Askin (who has now retired), and Meg Cronin in the English department. I was lucky enough to be involved with two sports so I had the opportunity to have a life distinct from academics. Although, my grades suffered quite a bit because of my sports, but I was not willing to give up the one thing that made me happy. As for the other students—some were ok. A lot of them were snobby and very clique-y and groups didn't really mingle well. I found great friends, though. Even though I've been out of school for over a year, I have yet to find a job. Part of the problem is that I don't know what I want to do but St. A's didn't really help me with that. It's hard to say if I should have gone someplace else-part of me wishes I had but another part of me also appreciates the rigorous academics and the amount of stuff I learned.
