If your friend was actually assaulted, then why is it the responsibility of the faculty to do something about it? She should have gone to the police. If it actually happened, they would surely have taken action. Your comment is more likely an anonymous slander on the school than a genuine complaint. No school that I am familiar with takes the well-being of their students more seriously. An actual assault, had one happened, would have been dealt with extremely harshly at VMI.
I agree with the last response. I have never been anywhere that treated more seriously the slightest hint of sexual assault. In fact, the school did so much to avoid this I often felt it had swung too far and was effectively discriminating against males. Claiming your friend was raped and nothing was done about it is unlikely to start with given the attitude the school has for such things. Saying that the faculty swept it under the rug shows how little you know about the school to think faculty would have anything to do with such matters. There are few schools that challenge their students more than VMI, it is just a shame that those people who don't live up to the challenge choose to slander the school rather than moving on to something they can be better at.
