Briercrest Bible College and Seminary (Canada)

In the two years that I attended, I came to be very upset at the direction the school was taking. There is a bit of a divide between the theology/bible students and the arts students where the former is fairly conservitive and the latter is becoming VERY new age/liberal.

The college (which was a "Bible college" before they changed the name) is becoming increasingly liberal as well as the arts teachers are becoming more involved in the administration.

The theology/bible profs are mostly conservitive or at least willing to let students disagree without it affecting their grades. The only prof I had that I would not recommend is Grant McMillan.

The administration was poorly organized, slow, and in more then one case made me feel like I was being taken advantage of. An example is when they decided to change the name from Briercrest Bible College to Briercrest College and Seminary. They didn't announce this controversial change until THE DAY AFTER students could no longer pull out of classes without having to pay for them. (this is just one example of many)

Finally, one major point of irritation for me was that students are REQUIRED to live in the schools overpriced, tiny, ugly and otherwise poorly maintained dorms for their first 3 years or until age 23. Students are not allowed to live in a nearby town even though it would save the student money to do so and give the local economy a bit of a boost.

My overall opinion of the school is obviously not very great. The students were great. Theology/Bible professors were great. Everything else about my existence there sucked. (O, the caf food was edible.)
