Stanford is a great school of you're ambitious, motivated, have a firm sense of what you want to do and think it's okay to wear sweatpants all day, every day. If you're more the Humanities kind of kid who needs to be directionless for a little while, go to a small northeastern liberal arts college. At Stanford, you'll feel like a needle in a haystack. The campus social scene is pretty dull, and Palo Alto, unfortunately, is good for nothing more than a cup of coffee and a trip to Borders. However, the student-body mix really is phenomenal- make the effort and you will meet some extraordinary people.
