CU
is a gorgeous campus, no denying it. Boulder is a
pretty nice town, although it seems that it's become a
super-rich place still trying to pass itself of as hip
and bohemian. In my experience at Boulder I found the
student body to be comprised of a large percentage of
east coast prep school types, attending CU for the “brand
name”, the same way that one might wear North Face
or Mountain Hardware clothing when the only climbing they'll be
doing is social climbing. Think Lexus SUV's with environmental license
plates. Enough phonies here to make Holden Caulfield feel right
at home.
