Major: Mechanical Engineering (This Major's Salary over time)
Clarkson is an amazing school that provides a top notch education. I know a ton of people who attended other engineering schools throughout the country (I attended nationally ranked 13th for a year prior to CU)—and rarely do the programs compare in quality to Clarkson. I've worked at two large corporations since graduation. They hire from many schools, but time and again the Clarkson grads are the ones that prove to be leaders with unparalleled technical capabilities.Clarkson IS isolated. Potsdam IS isolated. What is wrong with that? There are like 4 bars that you can go to if you want. There is a grocery store that carries booze. If you want to get something you collect your pals and have a blast messing around and driving to Massena. It is an intimate atmosphere where you make the best friends of your life and receive an amazing education.The profs and programs are amazing. So what if the apartments are a little ramshackle? The lawn might not look "great" in the winter…but there is SNOW on the ground!! What do you expect? I would much rather get a huge scholarship (the aid provided by CU to like 90% of the students is awesome) and a top notch education than have a student union with a bowling alley and a bunch of wasteful landscaping that is replaced yearly.My advice-Clarkson is great. Go there and enjoy…leave there and succeed.
