State admission and records has been a nightmare for me!
They have messed up my transcripts and registration 3 semesters
in a row and despite my priority registration status for
sports, I never get the classes that I need. Yes,
SSU does have small class room sizes but it is
at a cost. The down side to their small class
size is the 12 or so people on the wait
list who never get in. If you don't get into
the class on your first registration appointment, you're pretty much
screwed. As a result, I should be a graduating senior
this year but, now I will not graduate for at
least another 3 or 4 semesters. The Art department is
friendly but, severely understaffed! They can only offer one section
of each class, so if you want intermediate painting and
aren't in the first 28 to sign up for it,
too bad. It is nearly impossible to get the art
classes that are needed, people are on the wait-list in
April for classes that start at the end of August
and all the wait-list is good for is getting your
hopes up and than having those hopes smashed come the
first day of that class. As a student athlete I
can also say that the athletes at Sonoma and the
coaching staff are all very talented but, common sense is
somewhat lacking. It is my honest opinion that while Sonoma
state prides itself on small class size it doesn't having
the numbers of professors needed to do so...if you want
to go to college for 5 or 6 years go
to Sonoma State.
