Thanks for the great info! What changes has the new president made to improve campus safety? |
Major: Unknown (This Major's Salary over time)
I have attended EMU for four years and through all of its ups and downs, I am happy to say that I chose this university. All of my classes were relatively small, the largest being close to 80 people, and all of the others were under 25 students. I have had a great experience in the business program with wonderful professors that were excited and eager to teach us real world applications to many of the classroom concepts. I also know a few professors with great contacts for employment after graduation. Keep in mind that in order to succeed and make your time worth it at EMU you must get involved with campus activities, and get to know your professors!! There are numerous activities and clubs for students from all walks of life to get involved in. Normally, professors are happy to help students and to help them build networks in the business world. With the new president, Susan Martin, the environment and attitude of EMU has really changed. There is a significantly larger amount of school spirit, football game attendance, and campus involvement. In her short time here so far, she has done wonders. Campus safety has improved (which has been very worrisome for a lot of faculty and students), there has been major improvements on campus to help the image, and she loves to be around/talk to the students. I have experienced EMU through some rough times, and it's truly amazing to see what she has done. Some words of wisdom…this school is not for everyone, but to fully enjoy your college experience, get involved. If you get involved with something early on in your college career you will find your place at EMU. There are endless opportunities. It is a pretty big commuter school, but there are still plenty of students that stay on or around campus. Either way, there's usually always parties or something going on over the weekends. Ann Arbor is also only 10 minutes away, with plenty of nightlife also.
