She cares more about Surrounding City than the average student.
Date: Sep 13 2008
Major: Accounting (This Major's Salary over time)
The Good:
  • Athletics: basketball/football are top ranked and fun to attend.
  • Social: friendly people
  • Campus: huge area with many places to eat, study, etc.
  • Library: massive library with quiet areas
  • Progression: The weed-out courses do their job, and there are good opportunities for internships
  • The Bad:

  • The City: Knoxville is not your dream city
  • Parties: Too many…is everyone in this town an alcoholic?
  • Obnoxious Greeks: If you're not in a frat/sorority, you'll dislike everyone who is…and vice versa
  • The Ugly:

  • Graduate Student Teachers: English is not likely to be their first language and/or they have very little experience teaching. The two in combination become frustrating and a waste of time
  • Prices: Constantly on the rise, and now they force students to pay for football tickets (more than a generous amount of the budget goes towards athletics)
  • Overall, a good college to receive an undergraduate degree. Of all the Tennessee public institutions, UTK is at the top. However, you'll want to go somewhere else for graduate school or to start your career.
