UM
is dirt cheap even for out-of-state, but you get what
you pay for. I was drawn to UM because it
offered Native American Studies in a place where Indians still
live. And I'm outdoorsy so there was plenty to do
for me. The campus is beautiful. The mountains are stunning.
It's a typical state school academically. It's not bad but
definitely not great except in my major and a couple
others. The students are friendly, but they aren't free thinkers. UM doesn't encourage that.
If I could do it over
I would go somewhere else, but I am no worse
off for going to UM.
