I have only been here about two months, and while I like the campus, I can't see myself staying here 4 years.

The campus is well maintained and is surrounded by all sorts of nature.

The dorm buildings are nice, except some of them have no opening windows meaning you have to leave the A/C on all the time to get any kind of air flow.

Food selection is decent, but the quality is only so-so, and will have you using the bathroom more often.

Social Life:

Most of the people that come here are from the surrounding Lancaster area, so they already have groups of friends. It does make it harder to meet people if you are not from the area.

Thursday and Friday nights are good nights for parties, (as long as they don't get busted by the swarms of cops that just go up and down the streets waiting to hear too much noise)

Other than that, weekends are very boring. Since most people live nearby, they seem to go home often, and the campus can feel quite empty. They do show movies and stuff at night in the student center, but nothing that exciting.

Getting around to places outside of campus is pretty terrible. There is a free bus to the mall and a shopping center nearby, but outside of that you are at the mercy of the public transportation schedule. And the bus from the mall back to campus doesn't run when the campus is not open, so if you are trying to come back to school by train, you are out of luck unless you fork over $20+ for a taxi. So try to bring a car or meet someone that drives.

Jobs are hard to find around and outside of campus, especially for freshman. Given the economy at the moment, nobody is really hiring in the surrounding area, making me yearn for home where I have a job I can go back to.

Academically, I am disappointed. I graduated from one of the top school districts in the state with High Honors, but I am finding even the most basic work quite challenging. It isn't that the course work is difficult, but many professors like to

make up their own books
(only advantage being they are cheaper than a textbook) which include studying a great deal of useless information which is usually irreverent to the subject of the course. As a freshman, you don't get to choose your classes for the first semester, so you are pretty much stuck with whatever random professor they give you.

Overall while the general environment is nice, I feel like my time and money is being wasted here (especially when I was given zero financial aid through the school, despite not having much money) and may not stay here past this year.
