Overall, Worcester State is a pretty good school. I came to Worcester State because I was sick of being considered a charity case for not coming from a super rich family. I attended two private schools before coming here, and never seemed to really get into the swing of things at either one. There is a strong working class backbone here, and its something to be proud of, in the majority of students opinions. Once in a while you may encounter a professor that talks down to you, but feel free to talk back, and things usually change.Coursework is pretty challenging here, especially for the B.S. programs. A good background in math is necessary if you're planning on being done in four years. More clubs are forming as enrollment grows, and this has led to a better quality of social life than the school had when I started here last year. While most students here commute, I found the dorms to be nice on the few occasions I found myself there. Weslayean (sp?) Hall is modern and cleans, as is the Ghosh Center (for Science and Technology).Hopefully, Deval Patrick will provide the school with a new general academic center and Student Center and Gym before too long. These buildings aren't terrible but they've seen a lot of use.I recommend Worcester State College not only for its price, but for the most well-rounded education offered at any school I have either been to or applied for.
