Mercy College

Man, what a terrible school. VERY unaffordable, one of the main reasons I switched out! But as everyone has stated, for the costs, the school just isn't worth it! I won't lie, a lot of the kids in my department had crummy attitudes to begin with. There were the teachers who thought they were hot shit because they had power in a VERY small school, and the teachers who were nice when they started out and then became bitter and angry as they continued to teach at the school to the point that they acted unethically. The way people acted in my department, I'm almost appalled it was allowed in a college of all places. I think the head in charge held onto everyone because they really didn't want to know if they would be able to hire anyone to replace them. Some of these teachers were barely teaching, just read out of a book. The thing that pissed me off is how unchallenging the classes were in my major. They didn't inspire students to be creative AT ALL, and teachers encouraged students to copy off of other students style, no REALLY! I even had a design teacher TELL me that most of the students going for Game design weren't going to make it since it's so competitive and they didn't have talent. Basically goes to show you all they care about is money. It was appalling and disgusting, and once I was gone, I was glad I never had to go there EVER again.

Also, as far as the students go, Mercy would be the last place I'd go to to make friends. Not that EVERYONE sucks, but the school, since it advertises like crazy, attracts just about ANYONE from the streets. A lot of strange, petty weird people who seemed to not evolve from High School or have a serious mental disorder and lack of social skills. In every class I was in, there was at least ONE melt down or fight between the students or teachers a week. Just ridiculous. I understand these teachers could be crazy, but as someone stated before, this isn't High school and you are expected to work, so GROW THE FUCK UP!

Also, Administrators try to pigeonhole you into just about any classes, they'll pretend they are saving you money by only giving you whole credits, YEAH RIGHT. I went to a private school that was 5000 dollars cheaper than this. Gimme a break!
