If you haven't made what seems like a close circle of friends by the end of Sneak Peek, take the semester off and transfer elsewhere in the spring unless you're not a social person. The school is quite clique-y, and unless you plan on getting into Greek life after the sneak-peek rush for friends… expect to sit in your dorm on weekends unless you have a car.If you have a car, get a good (and loud) alarm system. My friends' car was stolen not once, but twice in a single semester. The city of Reading is known for violent crimes (Albright does not encourage police intervention for its own publicity sake), and even the camera-monitored dorms are broken into or harassed. Just travel in large numbers, especially girls going to or from parties. The party life is decent, and there's usually 1 or 2 worth-while parties per weekend. SAE's tend to have the best dick-to-chick ratios, and if you invited to a party with "APO", "Alpha-Pi-Omega", or "Kappa-Delta-Phi", just walk away. They are not a recognized fraternity on campus, and will drag your GPA underground along with your social life, and your reputation on campus. If you end up going to the 'bright, make your professors your best friends. Live your major, not just take the classes. The teachers will not respond well to you if you don't. After 4 e-mails sent to various professors in my department, I haven't gotten a single response in over 5 months. Do the best you can to not have to deal with a single administrator during your time here, especially Dean Crance or Sally Stetler. Although both are nice people up front, they are useless unless you are being punished or owe the college money. A roommate of mine was not allowed to take his last semester of classes (2 classes worth, senior year) due to a mere $700 owed to the school… and in the time it took him to get the money, his classes had filled up and many professors will not budge an inch for a single extra student. All-in-all… you'd be better off taking your $45k elsewhere, but don't get me wrong. The education was great, however with the recently dropped SAT requirement gone for admission, the classes will just keep getting dumbed down for the increasing number of unqualified students who can now easily get into this once-was prestigious college.
