I started out with very high expectations for Mary Baldwin. I thought it was a place to challenge me, and stimulate me. I also thought I'd fit in. Since I've moved here, I have felt completely at odds. The college staff are helpful and always nice, but the atmosphere and residence life has been a complete nightmare. Fitting in wasn't an option, the girls here aren't nearly as concerned with their grades and work as I thought they would be. They're also filthy and unhygienic. The town is great, and there are places to go, it's just a matter of walking. Blackfriar's is also amazing, but when you go to Mary Baldwin, the town matters little when you can't stand the school.
