I'm not too sure about some of the other comments posted on this, being that I'm of a different department than them, but I like UNCP. I transfered from UNC and found the work load to be similar. It's what you make of it really. Everyone has the opportunity to read the provided reading materials. If they can get by without reading the materials and continuously do so, then that's their education. I still have many friends at UNC, and some of them take shortcuts when they can as well. Professors are professors are professors. They're people who get lazy like the rest of us and use easy multiple choice question tests at times. Given the size of UNC, let me assure you, there are plenty of people at UNC that have trouble formulating proper sentences at times. I'm no Stephen King myself. I, however, haven't encountered many students at UNCP who can't write well. Could be just me though. Anyways, I think the university is quite similar to many other ordinary public universities in the US.
