I should have taken the hint that this place was worse than hell when i visited a year before. The campus tour consisted of walking by all the buildings (none were unlocked so we couldnt see ANY of the facilities). I was excited when i got here the week before. I figured there would be many week-before-school parties. WRONG. Not only were there absolutely no parties, nobody even wanted to party because they were too scared they would get caught. Everyone I have met is content with sitting in their room all day, playing video games, and occasionally going to a hookah bar. I met some guys that owned off campus apartments and i figured they threw parties all the time. WRONG. They throw 'dry parties' as one of the guys put it. Dont get me wrong i care immensely about my education, but having a social life is also important to me. Since its a commuter school, half the enrollment is actually middle-aged people. If your looking for a dorm experience, keep looking. Theres one dorm building, its old, stinky, hot in the summer, cold in the winter, and the RAs give you no freedom. You would think since its a commuter campus that there would be tons of parking. WRONG. I would rather stick a needle in my eye than try to find parking here. And if dont have the proper sticker or park somewhere undesignated, you can look forward to an expensive parking ticket. The ONLY positive about IUPUI is that there are gorgeous girls everywhere, but good luck finding them. They all go home every weekend because the campus sucks so bad. I have some acquaintances here but calling them friends would be a far stretch. They are people i talk to on occasion in my classes, or people i live close to. I am transferring out of here at the end of the semester and would not wish this "university" on my worst enemy.
