For the value this is a great university. The new information technology building is really nice (it definitely trumps the old engineering buildings). If you don't mind large schools, then there is no reason not to go to UConn. There is always something to do on campus (and plenty to do off campus as well). I would recommend trying to get a dorm at northwest, south, or towers, since these are easily the nicest places to live on campus.
