Well, a lot of people write on these sites when they've had a particularly bad experience. I didn't want to do that because then the site is never helpful! The people are really nice on campus, but many of them are sheltered and socially awkward.. They have good hearts and good intentions for the most part. The town is worthless.. seriously.. all that is in Arkadelphia is the Walmart. The nearest theater is at least 35 minutes away, in Hot Springs. It's full of sweet people, though. OBU is exactly what you make it. If you work hard and get involved, you will have lots of friends/acquaintances and have a good time. If all you can do is talk about how you hate it and find everything wrong, you will be miserable. And being miserable in Arkadelphia is true misery.. nothing to get your mind off it! Bottom line is that OBU is a great school and they have a great mission and goal. It is not perfect, but it is up to YOU to make it fun. In Christian Studies, the profs are amazing; they always want to help, but they do not go out of their way to help slackers. Self starters are greatly rewarded. I recommend this school to anyone who doesn't mind knowing almost everyone on campus.. and having them all know you. It's a lot like high school.. you are who you hang out with. Good thing is.. breaking the mold is never hard, and you will be remembered!
