Major: Political Science (This Major's Salary over time)
The coursework is not challenging; the school name is sneered at; the faculty are largely unaccomplished and teach at a 9th grade level; students are conservative white kids, some of whom come from very privileged family backgrounds; everyone just seems so mediocre and unphased by the lack of rigor. The athletics are a joke. Class participation is rare and when it does happen, kids say RETARDED THINGS. Close-minded and weird kids, here. The most passionate dept I've seen was Geology/Geography, probably. UNT is really excellent in terms of Environmental Studies program. I respect anyone who's enrolled in those programs.Everyone acknowledges how easy the courses are, and people brag about having 4.0s as if it's hard.Financial aid is stingy and doesn't even cover tuition, let along housing. It's a bureaucratic school that treats you in the most impersonal way possible.Lastly, getting your ideal class schedule is impossible cause they never have your major's classes! It's a huge university but they don't have enough Political Science courses!
