Coming from out of state to SMU for graduate school, I have a completely different perspective than being an undergraduate student. I went to a large university of undergrad (Arizona State) and wanted a smaller university for grad, one with less distractions and more access to the professors. SMU provided that. The professors were wonderful, the other students were as motivated and focused as I was, and it was a stimulating environment. The campus was beautiful with numerous facilities and in a great neighborhood of Dallas. Speaking of Dallas, what a fantastic city to reside in. There is so much to do and it's hard to get bored. Whenever I needed a break from studying, there was always something fun going on. Now on the other hand, I could see why undergrads might not like it here… it does seem to have a superficial student body and a country club atmosphere. But for graduate school, I don't think I could have gone to a better place.
