Like most others, I was drawn to the school by its picturesque charm. College is not all about the social scene, I completely understand that, however, social life does influence your happiness. Most students leave on the weekends. The majority of them are also from a higher economic background and aren't afraid to admit it. I wish I had $1 for everytime I heard something along the lines of "but Daddy, just put more money in my account" or "your mother works?? why?!"

If you join a club, it will absolutely help out, as thhat is the best way to meet new people and devlop amazing friendships.

If you don't have a car, you are stuck on campus, and there is usually not a whole lot going on. Unless you are a freshman girl who has no problem hanging all over the "frat" to get free beer.

I transferred because the financial aid office is ridiculous to work with, and are very stingy. Also, I was unhappy as I found the majority of the students extremely unpleasent. I played sports, so it's not like I was holed up in my room all of the time, but after games, the dorm rooms were completely empty as everyone went home.

Look at the transfer rate before you apply and waste your mmoney. I made some of the best friends of my life, but I was also the unhappiest I have ever been. 30% of my class transferred after freshmen year, I'd like to see how many left at the end of sophomore year (when I left). I think that says a lot about the school.
