THE ACADEMICS AT THIS SCHOOL ARE WELL REGARDED. BOTH OF MY ROOMMATES WENT ON TO TOP GRAD SCHOOLS RIGHT AFTER UCSB. ONE OF THEM WENT TO HARVARD LAW AND THE OTHER WENT TO STANFORD'S ENGINEERING SCHOOL. |
Major: Business - Management and Administration (This Major's Salary over time)
UCSB is an OUTSTANDING school. There are numerous classes and professors to choose from every quarter. Most professors are good teachers with impressive credentials. They expect a lot from students, especially if you're entering one of the more competitive majors. They don't care if you've been partying all night, they expect high quality work. LET ME WARN YOU, UCSB IS NOT A PARTY SCHOOL. If you come in with this expectation in mind, you'll be flunking out before the academic year is over.If you can't study off campus because of noisy neighbors or roommates, UCSB has an outstanding library. A portion of the lower library is open 24/7 if you choose to study all night.I got into UCLA and chose to attend UCSB instead. I absolutely have no regrets. I loved my academic and social experiences at Santa Barbara. UCSB is not for everyone, the lower division classes can be large and some of the impacted majors can be very rigorous. Regardless of where you go to college, you need to always keep your priorities straight if you're going to succeed. Santa Barbara offers you the best of both worlds - an outstanding and rich academic experience, along with the opportunity to party once in a while with friends you'll never forget. UCSB changed my life in more ways than I ever expected.
