I went to marquette for my freshmen year because I really liked the campus and the engineering program that they had. The engineering program I would say is fantastic, it probably would have prepared me (had I stayed at marquette) for a real world career. But there were too many issues I had with other aspects of the school. The people there are indeed affluent white kids from the suburbs of chicago. I had terrible advising experiences (he told me I wasn't his problem in so many words). The visitation policies are aburd. The tuition was absolutely ridiculous when compared to the quality of education I was getting, and this was the main reason I left. I left Marquette and am very happy I saved about 45k and received a similar education elsewhere.
