I really can't decide between ECU and UNCG. Im in my Sophomore year in high school so I'm really starting to feel pressured to already be the top in my class; I want to know any opinions, comparisons, contrasts between the two schools please!? |
Major: English (This Major's Salary over time)
UNCG is an awesome and impressively challenging school. I had transferred here from ECU, and did so because basically all of the classes at ECU were a joke - it was like an extension of high school. Anyone who claims that UNCG is an "easy" school is either completely ignorant or has honestly not challenged themselves. I took all upper-level courses when I was a freshman, and I found it to be very challenging. Honestly, a college education is what you make it. You can get an excellent college education anywhere, or a poor college education anywhere. I knew a person who flunked out of Brown University the first semester of his freshman year because he didn't study that hard and he partied all the time. Again, it's what you make it. The same goes with the social life - I get tired of people complaining that there's nothing to do at UNCG or in the surrounding area; there's plenty to do, you just have to seek it out. Get involved in some of the organizations on campus or in the community and challenge yourself by taking upper-level courses. With all that, you will feel very enriched and will be living a fully active life. The people who complain that there's nothing to do are the ones who mope around and don't do anything else, and those who complain that it's too easy aren't challenging themselves. Like with any state school, there are opportunities available to get involved and challenge yourself. Those who feel that there is nothing to do or who don't feel intellectually stimulated either haven't challenged themselves or haven't sought out opportunity to get involved. Keep looking, there's a lot that campus life here has to offer - You just have to find it.
