Ohio Wesleyan is a great university in terms of the academics. Unfortunately, for me personally, it fails on almost every other level. Let me begin with the most fundamental problem I have with the university: the students! OWU is a diverse campus for its size, however the quality of people can easily be grouped into a few cliches. Though most students here get to know many of the other students, you really have to put yourself out there if you want to attend this university. It's never a truism to cluster the nearly 2,000 students attending OWU into certain groups, but most students were privately educated and from privileged backgrounds (which is perfectly fine if you don't act the part to the extent too many students do). My advice, if you chose to attend this university, would be to get involved in some campus activity. I'm lazy so here are some points worth noting, I hope this finds all interested students well: Teaching- Excellent. All professors hold the highest degree possible in their respective field. Surrounding Area- Not the best. It's a small town, and you'll be spending most of your time in many of the same places. The bar scene is laughable in the amount of people that frequent all 2 bars, but still can be very fun. Best of luck with determing where you'll spend the next four (hopefully) years of your life.
