UVM is a good school but you should really make sure that it is right for you. There are lots of pot smokers and druggies and everybody drinks. THe classes are large but that is to be expected. I am majoring in animal science and specializing in the equine program. So far i have not learned anything that will help me when i get out of school. The equine program is very very basic and everyone here loves cows. As for the city of burlington, if you like homeless people walking up to you when you are shopping or watching people sleep on all the benches you will love it here. I thought i would be shopping a lot more but i really haven't been. The freshmen dorms suck unless you are an honors students. The campus is also pretty spread out so its a lot of walking which is great unless its 2 degrees out which it is about half the time your here. This school is not for everyone. Mostly just for druggie hippies that love the freezing cold and like lots of pavement. This is also not a good representation of most of vermont. If you love to ski, Great! but the closest ski mountain is about an hour so get ready to waste your gas money.

One last thing, UVM will nickel and dime you for all your worth… even for the instaters!
