I've lived in San Diego my whole life and I decided to go to Cal State San Marcos because its closer and cheaper. Now look, its not a horrible school, but if you want the "college experience," your not going to get it here. The sports are lacking with track and soccer being the top sports. We don't have real stands for our soccer field!

The dorms are nice though, there like apartments but theres not a lot and even if you get a dorm theres nothing to do around the town. San Diego downtown is about 40 minutes away and the beach is 15 minutes. Even if you live in the dorm, you still won't get a good college experience.

The business program here is good though, especially for a new school. If your looking to stay in San Diego county, and you want a cheap school, then maybe the Business Program here is good for you.

Just know that the school here is small, it feels like high school. Theres only one cafteria and theres no meal plan for the dorms. My high school can compare sizes with this school. Pretty much, there is no real college unity here. On fridays nobody is on campus, and even more true on the weekends. If you want the college experience, like I do, I recommend going somewhere else because if even if you join a frat or sort there are no houses for them or a greek row. This campus is still growing so stay away if you want a social life and good surrounding city.
