Mostly Positive experience. The best parts of Elmhurst were definitely the extracurricular activities, and travel opportunities. Most teachers are helpful and understanding. The campus is very nice, and very safe. It's in a good area. There is plenty of stuff to do, if you know how to find it (which is fairly easy to do). Social life generally if good. A little slow at times, but thats because the school is so small. Given its size, there were plenty of parties. Great access to shopping, entertainment, and major urban areas (Chicago.)

Negatives: food= generally poor, and very expensive tuition= high, and ever rising parking= atrocious residence life= treat students like crap

The first three negatives are manageable and expectable for a college, but the last one is absolutely horrible and unacceptable. Seriously, they couldn't give a crap about you, and they are extremely intrusive. Expect poor service if anything goes wrong, slow responses, unreasonable time frames for just about everything, people to enter your room and analyze everything in it whenever there is a break (seriously, they do that,)unreasonable rules, lackluster responses to actual problems, and inconsistency in just about everything. I literally have friends who have had such problems with Res Life that they had to have there family attorney fax Res Life a notice threatening legal action before they actually did something about it.

That said, my experience at EC was generally good (at least when not having to deal with Residence Life's complete inability to do their job.) I do have some issues with how the college utilizes some of its resources, and I am not yet satisfied/comfortable with all of the new administration (i.e. several new deans, and a new president over the last couple of years.) That aside, I love EC. The environment is great, the people are friendly, and there are so many opportunities. Over my four years there, I have traveled across the Midwest, to New York, Boston, Nashville, Orlando, LA, Jamaica, and Prague. If I weren't so involved in campus activities, I would have pursued even more study abroad opportunities. I would definitely recommend Elmhurst to a friend.
